# Staying in the Loop: The Power of Following & Upvoting

Don't want to check the portal every day? You don't have to. We’ve built a notification system that brings the updates to you.

### Why you should Upvote

Upvoting is your "vote" in the room. When we sit down for our monthly planning sessions, the items with the highest number of votes get the most attention. It’s the fastest way to tell us, _"This will make my life easier."_

### Why you should Follow

When you **Follow** an item on the Roadmap (or an Idea in the portal), you are subscribing to its journey. You will receive an email notification when:

-   A feature moves from **Planned** to **In Progress**.
    
-   We post a **Developer Update** or a sneak peek screenshot.
    
-   The feature is officially marked as **Completed**.
    

### How to Follow

Simply click on any card in the Roadmap to open the full view, then click the **"Follow Updates"** button. You can manage these notifications at any time in your Profile Settings.
